President of the police officers wives Association (POWA), Hajia Hajara Baba Alkali, weekend stressed the need to prioritise attention on the welfare, education and healthcare for the police family members across the country.
Hajara Baba Alkali who is also the wife of the Inspection General of Police stated this this during a courtesy visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty Obi Dr E O Efeizomor 11 JP OON Obi of OWA, in Owa Oyibu, Delta state.
She said the welfare and healthcare needs of wives of officers and men of the Nigerian police were of important to her leadership, hence the need to interface with critical stakeholders in the society like royal father’s .
She expressed delight at the degree of love and hospitality the people of Owa has shown her during the visit and used the occasion to solicit for royal blessings from Owa Monrach for a successful tenure as POWA president.
Earlier, His Majesty Obi Dr E O Efeizomor 11 JP OON Obi of OWA, thanked her and members of her entourage for deeming it fit to visit his kingdom, saying that was the first of its kind in the history of Owa.
He paid glowing tribute to the her husband the Inspector General of Police, saying during his stay in Delta state as commissioner of police , the state enjoyed relative peace as a result of his effort in policing the state .
The Monarch used the occasion to call on the Federal government and Nigerians in general to give Inspector General of Police the necessary tool and the enabling environment to succeed in his present assignment.
He said his kingdom and the palace well do everything possible to assist the police in the state in carrying out their assignments of provision of security for safety of lives and property.
In the enturage of the IGP’s wife were Delta State Commission of Police, CP Ari Mohammed , the wives of the DIGs in the five zones in the country and other top ranking police officers from force headquarters.
