Every Kobo of Federal Allocation To Delta Is Accounted For – Okowa

By Austin Ogwuda

Delta  State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa says that Deltans have no cause to worry as he is prudent and can account for all allocations received so far from the Federal government since he became governor.
He made this clarification yesterday during a book launch held at the Unity Hall Government House Asaba.
The governor spoke through the State Commissioner for Finance, Chief Fidelis Tilije.
Chief launcher of the book, ‘The Experience’ Chief Dele Omeneogor had while launching the book said his donation should not be seen as the bench mark because he is from the private sector and urged others especially those in the public sector to do more.
According to him “we don’t receive allocation in the private sector where we work for every kobo received but I urge you (pointing to government officials) that get allocation to give above this”
However in a sharp response, the governor through the Finance Commissioner said “I want to quickly correct the impression.
“Allocations”, he went on, “are accounted for . We receive allocation quite alright but it is spent to enable dividend of democracy on the people”.
He further commended the author of the book, a journalist and one of his Media aides, Mr. Fidelis Egugbo for the initiative.
According to him “it is a difficult task for those who took the pain to put what they have thought in their mind and bring together in writing for others to read and understand.
“Unfortunately as it were those of us who are in this clime Nigeria find it so difficult to read and so sometimes I pity those who write book particularly now that the world has gone digital”.
The book is reportage of pilgrim voyage from the journalistic perspective.
