Traditional Rulers in Delta State have thrown their weight behind the current leadership of the State Council of Traditional Rulers under the headship of His Majesty, Obi Dr. E . O Efeizomor 11, the Obi of Owa, saying he has piloted the affairs of the council creditably well.
The Council during it’s monthly meeting which held at the Secretariat , in Asaba yesterday, passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman for his democratic leadership style , sense of direction and concerns for the welfare of the traditional institution in the states.
His Majesty, Mike Omeru JP , Okori 1, the Ovie of Agbon kingdom , who moved the motion for a vote of confidence on the leadership of the Council, supported by His Majesty, Obi Uche Irenuma 11, Obi of Abavo, and His Majesty (Barrister) Anthony Ogbogbo, Ovie of Ozoro, extolled the sterling qualities of the Obi of Owa , who according to them have brought his wealth of experience garnered from the old western region down to the defunct Midwest , Bendel state to the present Delta State to bear in mobilizing the revered traditional instution in support of successive administrations.
In a communique issued at the end of their meeting , the Council placed on record the enemous Contributions of the Council Members towards promoting peaceful co existence among the people, ethnic harmony, mutual trust, understanding and strength in diversity among all Deltans.
The Delta Monarchs particularly acknowledged the inspiring leadership qualities ,administrative ingenuity and sagacity which the Chairman, the Obi of Owa, had brought to bear in piloting the affairs of the Council saying that the affairs of the council had been effectively discharged since the current leadership came on board.
The Monarchs also lauded the giant strides already made by the Okowa administration in bringing more dividends of Democracy to the door steps of all Deltans and pledged their continued support to enable the Governor finish strong. The Monarchs urged the people to continue to observe all covid 19 protocols and adhere to guidelines issued by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control saying that the Delta Variant of covid 19 was very deadly.
The Delta Monarchs enjoined the people of the State especially Heads of public and private schools to be more vigilant and security conscious.
They also emphasized the need for greater support of Deltans for the policies and programmes of the state government even as they insisted that peace was a sine qua non to the development of any society.

During the meeting, council members were briefed by the commissioner for Health, Dr Mordi Ononye on efforts of government to stem the covid 19 scourge. The meeting was attended by Traditional rulers from across the three senatorial districts of Delta State.
