Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers has applauded the State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on the successful Inauguration of the newly completed multi billion naira State Secretariat Complex and the 8.5 megawats Independent Power Project (IPP).
Doth projects were inaugurated by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo in Asaba.
The Monarch’s in a communique issued at the end of the monthly meeting and read by the Chairman of the Council, His Majesty Obi, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor 11, JP, OON, Obi of Owa, said the magnificent State Secretariat named after the Asagba of Asaba, His Majesty Professor Obi Chike Edozien, will not only improve on the social economic standing of the state, but a mark of respect and understanding between the state and the traditional institution.
The Chairman who was flanked by both the First Vice Chairman His Majesty, Major Gen. Felix Mujakperuo(Rtd) and Second Vice Chairman, His Majesty, Pere Stanley Perediegha Luke, Kalanama V111, (JP), Pere of Akugbene – Mein, said, “Professor Chike Edozien Secretariat Complex is a land mark achievement. This is a clear evidence of love, respect and understanding between the state traditional institution and Governor Okowa and government inclusive”.
The Monarch’s who eulogies governor Okowa, said, the new Secretariat will not only help government to save funds from the previous rented office accommodation but will provide a conducive working environment for optimal performance of civil servants , adding that the 8.5 megawats Asaba independent power plant, will provide power supply to the state state capital adequately.
The Monarch’s also used the occasion to Congratulate the new Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse 111,on the occasion of his coronation and applauded all positive steps the new Monarch is taking to promote peace, unity and progress in the kingdom.
The council further urged all parties in any form of dispute to shield their sword in the interest of peace, unity, progress and dignity of Warri Kingdom.
The Monarch’s Commended the governor for setting up a panel of enquiry on Evwreni in Ughelli North Local Government area, to settle the dispute between the traditional ruler and his subjects in the community and prayed that the panel will find a lasting solution to the perennial dispute.
The kings congratulated the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sherrif Oborevwori on the award as the lawmaker of the year but the Independence newspaper while expressing Condolences to the former SSG and a veteran journalist, Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay on the demise of his mother.
The council commended the performance of the information Commissioner, Mr. Charles Aniagwu for the extension of radio coverage across the state.
They urged Christians and other religious practitioners across the state to continue to pray for Governor Okowa for peace and unity to continue to flourish in the state, particularly in the festive periods.
